HTF Gate Guide

The HTF Gate is a higher-timeframe market-state filter designed to determine whether current auction conditions favor directional continuation, rotational trade, or defensive/no-trade conditions.

It combines value acceptance, VWAP structure, overnight inventory, directional participation, and higher-timeframe alignment.

The HTF Gate is not a standalone signal generator. It is a participation and permission model.

What The Score Means

The Score is the composite directional condition rating. It measures how many bullish or bearish structural conditions are currently aligned.

Score Range | Market Condition
0–2 | Weak / Rotational
3–4 | Transitional
5–6 | Directional Bias Building
7–8 | Strong Directional Continuation
9–10 | Extreme Trend / Expansion Environment

What Strength Means

Strength measures the quality and alignment of the auction structure. A market can have directional bias but weak structure.

Strength | Interpretation
1 | Very weak structure
2 | Weak rotational structure
3 | Moderate directional structure
4 | Strong directional structure
5 | Exceptional trend alignment

Gate Modes

LONG ONLY
Buy-side conditions are favored. Short participation is considered lower probability while the gate remains active.

SHORT ONLY
Sell-side conditions are favored. Long participation is considered lower probability while the gate remains active.

ROTATIONAL
Neither side controls the auction. Market conditions favor two-sided trade and lower directional confidence.

Best HTF Gate Conditions

The strongest directional conditions usually occur when:

Score is 7 or higher
Strength is 4 or higher
Price is not inside value
Price is not near VWAP
Gate status is confirmed
Value migration is aligned with trend
Pullbacks are shallow and defended
Continuation structure remains clean

What Weakens the Gate

The gate weakens when price re-enters value, loses VWAP acceptance, stalls near key references, or begins showing rotational structure.

Signs of weakening include overlapping candles, failed continuation attempts, repeated VWAP crossings, and poor directional efficiency.

Important Limitation

The HTF Gate is a market-state filter. It is not designed to predict direction by itself.

The purpose of the gate is to improve participation quality by identifying when auction structure supports directional continuation versus rotational trade.
